"Northern Ontario continues to be significantly impacted by wildfires. As of July 15, a total of 185 active wildland fires — 148 in the northwest region and 37 in the northeast region — are burning, according to the province’s latest updates posted Tuesday evening.

CP UPDATES:
While there is currently little direct impact from the fires, CPCK does anticipate significant congestion within the coming days. The situation is being monitored actively, and updates will be provided as they become available.

CN UPDATES
Due to the ongoing wildfires in Northern Ontario between Sioux Lookout and Armstrong. Currently, CN personnel are not permitted to enter the affected area. Portions of the region have been shut down and evacuated as a safety precaution. We are awaiting confirmation from Environment Canada that conditions are safe for operations to resume. Westbound train departures from both Brampton and Montreal remain suspended. In addition, terminals are not currently accepting RVs for Westbound loading.
The affected area has not yet been deemed passable, and active wildfire conditions continue to affect operations. At this time, we do not have a confirmed ETA for when service will resume
Eastbound Service: Eastbound traffic from Brampton and Montreal is continuing to operate. However, due to car supply shortages caused by delayed Westbound train arrivals, loading volumes are currently reduced.
Western Terminal Operations
The following terminals are not currently loading Eastbound traffic until the track is confirmed passable:
- Vancouver
- Edmonton
- Calgary
- Saskatoon
- Regina
- Winnipeg
Shipments that have already been ingated, as well as those pending ingate, should not be expected to move according to published transit schedules. Some traffic in transit that has been affected by the current fires, has been staged. Once operations can safely resume, this traffic will continue to destination.
We will continue to monitor and adjust our operations to ensure we are mitigating effects to your business as much as possible and continue to provide updates as more information becomes available."
